Motorcycles don’t steer like a car and they rely on the profile of the tyre for it’s performance and handling, hence the importance of correct tyre pressures. Generally a road bike will will run around 35psi in the front and 42 in the rear but this may vary from bike to bike.
Tyre pressures on a road bike should be checked every two weeks when the tyres are cold. The correct pressures are generally located on a sticker on the swing arm or in the owners manual. Additional rear tyre pressure may need to be added if carrying a passenger or luggage. If you are in doubt then please contact West Coast Motorcycles Tyre and Service Center and ask for advice.
